This series of little daily experiences has been crafted to help deepen this time of self-examination. The practices are shaped by the Lenten scripture.  The calendar is available online, or you can receive it through the daily e-devotionals, text messages, or through Twitter.

Hearing Conference

 

Do you hear what I hear?
March 6, 8:30-12:30 p.m. at the Westheimer Campus

Free Hearing Conference for identifying and managing hearing loss. Workshops deal with the emotional impact of hearing loss and the latest technology. The conference includes more than a dozen vendor displays and free hearing screenings for those who have not been tested before. Keynote speaker is Teri Wathen, hearing Loss Research Specialist.

St. Luke's has several scholarships endowed through the Foundation that are awarded each year in May.  Scholarship applications are available for pick up in the office or on line at:  http://www.stlukesmethodist.org/scholarships/

March 13, Daylight Savings Time begins – set your clocks forward one hour

 

March 13, A special church conference will take place following the 11 a.m. service on the Westheimer Campus. The purpose of the conference is to meet and approve our two candidates for ministry, Jack Matthews and Christopher Vaughan.


March 13, Older Adults: Families in Transitions Forum and Luncheon.
Renata L. Nero, Ph.D., Psychology Chair, HBU offers practical tips for healthy, positive relationships between adult children and their aging parents. A $7 donation is suggested. This family friendly session begins at 12:15 p.m. RSVP 713-402-5046.

 

March 17, A study of Devotion to Jesus: The Divinity of Christ in Earliest Christianity will be lead by Sally Dowland. The Da Vinci Code is only the most successful in a long line of books containing revisionist accounts of Christianity’s origins. The true story is much more amazing, as Dr. Larry Hurtado demonstrates in this important new course. All are invited to join and explore the divinity of Christ in early Christianity in this 8-week study. The group meets Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in R22. For more information contact Sally Dowland.

April 1-3, Pure Sound Youth Choir presents the Stephen Schwartz musical "Children of Eden", 7 p.m. on April 1 & 2, and 2:30 p.m. on April 2 & 3 in the Fellowship Hall.
