Day School Registration

Day School registration packets for 2011-2012 are available in the Day School office.  Church member priority processing deadline is February 8 at 6 p.m.  Applications received after that date will be processed with the community. School tours begin January 20. The Moral Vision of the New Testament: Community, Cross, New Creation, A Contemporary Introduction to New Testament Ethics

January 30, the Gethsemane Campus welcomes Dr. Richard Hays, Dean of Duke Divinity School as a special guest speaker.  Richard is considered one of the world's leading New Testament Scholars.  His book, The Moral Vision of the New Testament has been called one of the most important theological works of the 20th Century.

Dr. Hays is a United Methodist and will be speaking about
I Corinthians. on the 30th.

January 21, Dance and listen to the big band sounds of Bayou City Band from 7-10 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. $15 includes light dinner. Proceeds and donations will benefit St. Luke’s Christmas Offering to purchase an X-ray machine for Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya.

January 23, 7-week Adoption Discovery class meets from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Chapel Parlor. This educational series will offer encouragement and outline every step for prospective parents. January 28-30, Bridges Academy's Adult Musical Theater Workshop presents Stephen Schwartz's musical, Working in the Rotunda Theater. Working features favorites such as "Just a Housewife", "Brother Trucker" and "All the Livelong Day". Performance times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, (28th and 29th) and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 30. A free-will offering benefits Bridges Fine Arts Academy.

January 30, Life Together dinner and class for those who want to learn more about St. Luke’s and the membership vows meets from 4-7 p.m. in the Hines Baker Room.
