The New Year has arrrived! We are thrilled to greet the winter season and we are looking forward to a great spring filled with fantastic events and opportunities for you to learn more about the religious diversity of Houston. This year we have many exciting projects, and as we progress each month you will learn more about what we are doing in Houston to encourage interfaith dialogue, education and service!

This month I would like to highlight a new partnership with The Houston Arts Alliance Sacred Songs, Sacred Sites  program that provides exposure to Houston's diverse faith communities. We encourage you to learn all about the series here
Together, IM and Houston Arts Alliance have put together a weekend extraveganza where you can visit four faith communities to experience their traditional art, music, dance, poetry, storytelling, cuisine and more! On February 26 and 27, 2011 local faith communities will open their doors and welcome you to learn about their religious and cultural heritage. It is an event not to be missed! To learn more and register, click here.

Our partnership with Houston Arts Alliance is one of many  collaborations we will bring to you this spring, so make sure you stay tuned on all our upcoming events. We hope that this year will bring you unexpected blessings and you will join us for unique learning and service opportunities throughout the year!

Thank you and we will see you soon!

Questions for Dinner Dialogue Groups

Many of you have let us know that you are continuing to meet with your Amazing Faiths Dinner Dialogue groups and we are thrilled to hear that great news! Each month you will find in this section a few discussion questions that you can use for your follow up meetings!
We would love to hear about how your groups are doing and any activities that you all choose to do together!

January Questions: In honor of Mahatma Ghandi

1. "A small body of determined spirits fired by unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history."                             --M. Ghandi
Is there a a small group of individuals from your faith tradition or another faith tradition whom you admire for their zeal and persistence to realize their goals? You do not have to agree or even condone their religious ideology, but is there a group that challenges you to be more passionate about your own beliefs?

2. "Action expresses priorities."                                          --M. Ghandi

Name one or more actions that you have exhibited this month that are a direct result of your religious or ethical beliefs. What do they say about your priorities?

Do you have news to share?
The Interfaith Relations Department asks that all requests to promote upcoming events be received by the 3rd Friday of the month preceeding your event. Click here to fill out our line request form. Thank you!
