Sunday, December 5, The Third Sunday of Advent

Sermon title: Love Came Down at Christmas
Third in the Sermon Series: And Heaven and Nature Sing
I John: 4: 7-12



This Sunday--
Annual Christmas Music Festival,
"Love Came Down at Christmas", featuring the Chancel Choir and orchestra presenting a program of festive and inspirational music at the 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m. worship services in the Sanctuary at the Westheimer Campus.


December 12 at the Westheimer Campus:
 Pick up a poinsettia in the
Commons and deliver it to a Friend at Home.

Las Posadas Celebration during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45 a.m.) Children in Threes- Fifth Grade classes will re-live Mary and Joseph's journey and the arrival of baby Jesus. You won't want to miss it!

December 12 at the Gethsemane Campus:
 Jesu’s Birthday Party
starts with a family brunch at 9 a.m. followed by a visit from Santa at 10 a.m. and a special worship service with the children’s choir at 11 a.m. at the Gethsemane Campus.

Joyful and Triumphant, a musical for Christmas by Bill and Robin Wolaver will be presented during the 10:55 a.m. worship service at the Gethsemane Campus.

December 17, Christmas in the Chapel, with the Early Music Ensemble, 6 and 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Receptions will follow the services.

December 19, The Rob Landes Trio Christmas Concert with SundaySing! Children’s Choir is at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Christmas Offering 2010

Can you imagine a hospital serving 800,000 people without an X-ray machine?

This year St. Luke's hopes to raise the needed $85,000 to purchase a new X-ray machine for the Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya.  Envelopes for returning your offering were included in the Advent mailer and are available in the pews. For more information, contact the Outreach office at 713-402-5067.
