December, 2010

More than 200 Citi employees will volunteer with Meals on Wheels to provide more than 2,000 meals to San Antonio Senior Citizens.

WHO:              Norman Wright, Site President,  Citibank Client Services; Gene Weaver, Sr. Vice President, Citibank Client Service Center, Premium Client Services; Sharon Baughman, Christian Senior Services, CEO;  Bexar County Commissioner Sergio Rodriguez; and 200+ Citi employees.

WHAT:           4th Annual “Citi Serving San Antonio” Event   As part of a community service partnership between Citi and Meals on Wheels of San Antonio, Citi will once again underwrite the cost, to the amount of $10,000, to sponsor meals for a day and recruit Citi employees to help deliver a portion of those meals to homebound seniors in the community.

WHEN:           Tuesday, December 14, 2010

10:30 – 11:00 AM       Assembly with Citi Volunteers & Guest Speakers

(Site President Norman Wright to address group)

11:00 AM                    Citi Volunteers Begin Delivery of 400+ Meals

(Media routes available during this time)

WHERE:         Citibank Client Service Center

                        100 Citibank Drive

Bldg. 3, Collaboration Center – Mezzanine

                        San Antonio, Texas 78245

Why:    Now in its 4th year, the annual event is geared to encourage more active participation from community partners and bring heightened awareness to the Meals on Wheels program.   Christian Senior Services is one of the largest providers of services to people over age 60 in Bexar County.  Without this much needed service, many homebound senior citizens of San Antonio would otherwise go all day without a warm, nutritious meal and human contact.
