December, 2010Pet lovers can stroll the beautiful San Antonio Botanical Garden with their dogs on Saturday-Sunday, January 22-23, 2011 and celebrate Dog Days - A Winter Paws. Each January, the Garden opens its gates and pathways to four-legged friends and their owners. Tails are wagging and many friends are made at Dog Days!
On Saturday, the Botanical Society will host tours of their greenhouse showing how San Antonio-friendly plants are being cultivated for the spring plant sales. Anne Marie’s Carriage House Bistro will serve brunch 9:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. inside and under the outside canopy. Pets are allowed to “dine” in the outdoor seating area.
Large plastic pools of water will be located throughout the Garden for the animals to drink and “mutt mitts” will be provided for responsible dog-owners to help pick up after their pets.
Dog Days - A Winter Paws is co-sponsored by the Animal Defense League, San Antonio Animal Care Services, Humane Society of San Antonio and San Antonio Botanical Society.
A $5 donation per dog (cash only) will be collected and given as a contribution to these local animal non-profit organizations.
