Donald Braswell: Concert Benefit for SAMMinistries

SAMMinistries, in partnership with Donald Braswell, will hold a benefit concert on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at the Arneson River Theater in historic La Villita at 7:00 pm under the spectacular holiday Christmas lights on the River Walk at 418 Villita Street (South Alamo and Nueva). This is an outdoor amphitheatre with the stage on one side of the river and seating on the other side.
Proceeds benefit SAMMinistries in its fight to overcome homelessness. Donald is also a special headline guest with conductor Tim Janis and several hundred musicians at a holiday concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Dec. 2.
A Brief Biography: Donald Braswell II was born and raised in in South Texas. Singing and performing since the age of seven, Donald was awarded a full scholarship to study atthe renowned Juilliard School in New York. After graduating, Donald was on tour in 1995 in the United Kingdom and was hit by a car while riding a bicycle. He suffered severe damage to the soft tissue in his throat. Donald spent the next few years working diligently to regain the use of his voice. In 2008, Donald auditioned for the Talent Competition, “America’s Got Talent."
Ready to let the world know he was back, he won a position in each round by pouring out his heart and soul every step of the way. Out of over 250,000 contestants, Donald became a Top 5 Finalist and was awarded the privilege of performing at The MGM Garden Arena in the “America’s Got Talent” Live Show in Las Vegas. He has since performed in New York at Feinstein's and throughout the world.
