Through December 5, Advent Dedications for Seasonal Decorations will be accepted.  Make your dedication in honor or in memory of loved ones. December 2, It's a Wonderful Life! A "live" radio broadcast of this holiday classic will be performed at 7 p.m. in the Rotunda Theater.

December 5:

  • Celebrate The Gift of Christmas, Christmas is a time for singing…Along with a message from Dr. Tom Pace, this service will be filled with special music from the Encounter band joined by members of the Houston Symphony, and a powerful drum-line.  Join in celebrating the Gift of Christmas as we sing of some of your favorite Christmas carols at 8:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall
  • March to the Manger, Children will bring one new, unwrapped toy to donate to Jingle Bell Express (CCSC). Twos-2nd grade classes will enjoy the live Nativity in the Children's Chapel. 9:45-10:45 a.m.
  • All Church Christmas Luncheon, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., music provided by BB Bamberg, singing with Rob Landes, a visit from Santa, Advent activities and crafts for all ages. Tickets are available at the door of the Activities Center. Cost: $10/adult, $5/child or $40/immediate family
  • Lessons and Carols Service with members of St. Luke’s choirs from both campuses at
    7 p.m. at the Gethsemane Campus

December 7, United Methodist Women’s Spiritual Growth Service is an Advent-centered worship service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck brunch to follow in the Hines Baker Room. December 11, Christwalkers Youth service project will deliver poinsettias to our Friends at Home who are no longer able to come to church on a regular basis

5:30 p.m. Stay to watch the movie “Elf” at 6:30 p.m. in Canterbury Hall. Donations are appreciated.

 

Christmas Offering 2010


Can you imagine a hospital serving 800,000 people without an X-ray machine?

This year St. Luke's hopes to raise the needed $85,000 to purchase a new X-ray machine for the Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya.  Envelopes for returning your offering were included in the Advent mailer and are available in the pews. Mark your calendar

Through December 2, St. Luke’s annual Book Fair, The Kingdom of Sweets and Stories, includes photos with Santa, an alumnae reception, live musical performances and the best selection of hand-picked children’s books in town in the Fellowship Hall. Hours of operation are:
December 1, 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
December 2 from 9 am – 4 pm. 

December 5, Life Together Class and Dinner led by Dr. Tom Pace is an opportunity to meet staff members and clergy and learn more about membership at St. Luke’s.
