Kids’ Gingerbread

Now in its fourteenth year, Kids’ Gingerbread makes it easy for children to create a keepsake holiday masterpiece. We provide the Gingerbread House or Gingerbread Cookie, all of the trimmings and lots of white icing to glue it all together.  We even take care of the clean up. What a sweet deal!

Gingerbread House Package: $25 members/$30 non-members

Gingerbread Holiday Tradition!

See a display of the gingerbread houses designed and built by contestants in the 2nd Annual Gingerbread Design Challenge.

Kids’ Countdown

10:00am – 1:00pm (Doors Open 9:30am)

Kids’ Countdown is a fun, family-friendly party to celebrate the New Year. Ring in 2010 at the stroke of NOON with a sparkling juice toast, confetti, music and more! Decorate a festive party hat, create your own noisemaker and make raisins dance in sparkling cider in the FETCH! Science Lab.

Members are FREE/Non-member $9.00.

Reservations are NOT required in advance. Tickets available only at the door.

Step up to street level on Houston Street for more holiday fun - for kids and kids at heart, as the San Antonio Children's Museum teams up with HEB, Bohanan's, and Downtown Alliance for festive activities on Houston Street. For a complete list of events, visit www.downtownsanantonio.org/holidays

Holidays on Houston Street activities at the San Antonio Children’s Museum:

·         Kids are free between 5:00pm – 7:00pm with a paying adult. Adult admission $7. Children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult may accompany up to four children.

·         $1 parking between 5:00 pm – 7:00pm (Houston St./Mid-City garage on the corner of Navarro and College St.) Adult admission is $7.

·         Participate in festive art activities and enjoy a special holiday performance by the Magik Theatre.

·         Purchase a toy or $30 gift membership in the Museum’s new gift shop – Your Downtown Toy Store and receive complimentary gift wrapping services. For this evening only, SACM will also wrap items purchased from fellow businesses along Houston Street for a small donation.

The Art Studio is a fun, hands-on activity space where children and parents or caregivers can create art together. Lively and well equipped, the Art Studio provides opportunities for exploring self-expression led by artist-educators. FREE with museum admission.

The San Antonio Children’s Museum provides engaging hands-on experiences where Kids Play to Learn and Adults Learn to Play! The museum offers three floors of interactive play exhibits, including the H-E-B Kids’ Market, a Tot Spot dedicated to infants and toddlers 0 -36 months, action-packed PowerBall Hall and weekly science, art and early literacy activities for children ages 0 –10.
