THE MUSIC OF MICHAEL JACKSON WITH THE FORT WORTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

November, 2010

From his early years with the Jackson 5 to his mega-hit album Thriller and beyond, Michael Jackson stormed the music industry with hit after hit. Las Vegas showman James Delisco takes you through each era of this storied performer from ABC and I'll Be There through Beat It, Thriller, Rock With You, The Way You Make Me Feel and more. All backed by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Brent Havens.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 7 at Bass Performance Hall. Tickets are $30 - $65 and are available at www.fwsymphony.org or by calling 817-665-6000.

Berklee-trained Brent Havens is the arranger and guest conductor for five symphonic rock programs: the Music of Led Zeppelin, the Music of the Doors, the Music of Pink Floyd, the Music of the Eagles and the Music of Queen, all of which have been presented at the FWSO’s Concerts In The Garden summer music festival to great acclaim. He has written music for orchestras, feature films and virtually every kind of television. His TV work includes movies for networks such as ABC, CBS and ABC Family Channel Network, commercials, sports music for networks such as ESPN, and even cartoons. Mr. Havens has also worked with the Doobie Brothers and the Milwaukee Symphony, arranging and conducting the combined group for Harley Davidson’s 100th Anniversary Birthday Party Finale attended by over 150,000 fans. He recently completed the score for the film Quo Vadis, a Premier Pictures remake of the 1956 gladiator film.

Crowned "The Entertainer" by Wayne Newton on the E! Network’s reality TV series, James Delisco has proved he is more than worthy of that title. After completing his $1 million contract at the Las Vegas Hilton, where his show opened to rave reviews, Delisco continues to obtain critical acclaim in every market and venue on his recent world-wide tour. An iconoclastic showroom performer, he emanates old school charm with contemporary charisma. He creates a connection between artist and audience while ushering in his unique new sound through his original music. He has crafted his own style of music he calls RaGaBaR, which is a synthesis of the elements of twentieth century music such as rhythm and blues, gospel, rock and ragtime.

These concerts are part of the Star-Telegram Pops Series and are made possible by season sponsors Star-Telegram, American Airlines, North Texas Audi Dealers and Worthington Renaissance Hotel. Promotional support is provided by Star-Telegram and WRR Classical 101.1 FM.
