Center for Nonproft Management

November, 2010

The Center for Nonprofit Management and Community Wealth Ventures (CWV) invite nonprofits to learn more about the Social Innovators Institute at a FREE Information Session on November 29 and November 30.  The Social Innovators Institute is a highly rigorous, eight-month program that provides business planning training and coaching to cross-functional teams from six to eight high-performing nonprofits.  The goal of the program is for organizations to launch or grow a social enterprise or entrepreneurial social program.  The free Information Session to learn more about the program is offered in Forth Worth on Monday, November 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. and in Dallas on Tuesday, November 30 from 9 to 11 a.m.

With funding from The Meadows Foundation, Amon G. Carter Foundation, Embrey Family Foundation and an anonymous source, the Social Innovators Institute is an initiative of the North Texas Community Wealth Initiative.   Launched in July 2007 and now entering its third year, the North Texas Community Wealth Initiative is a multi-faceted program designed to build capacity for nonprofit organizations through social innovation, establish a network of entrepreneurial nonprofit leaders, and stimulate regional change.  These information sessions, facilitated by the Center for Nonprofit Management and Community Wealth Ventures, will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Social Innovators Institute, how to apply, and what to expect from participation in the program.

After an intensive application and selection process, six to eight nonprofits will be selected to participate in the eight-month process.  The application deadline for 2011 participants will be December 14, 2010.

The FREE information sessions will take place on Monday, November 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Botanical Gardens at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd in Fort Worth and then again on Tuesday, November 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Center for Nonprofit Management located at 2902 Floyd Street in Dallas.  For more information or to register for this seminar, please visit or contact Charlotte Keany at or 214-826-3470, ext. 244.

The mission of the Center for Nonprofit Management is to build stronger communities by increasing the performance and impact of nonprofit organizations.  Now celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the Center for Nonprofit Management annually helps more than 5,500 staff, volunteers and board members of 2,500 nonprofits develop better management and governance skills through consulting, education and certification programs.  Visit to learn more.
