World-Class Performing Arts Debut in Boerne

Partners of the Hill Country Council for the Arts, and touting Boerne CVB’s new tag line…Journey in the Arts…it is most appropriate that KPAS debut Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano on November 1st and November 2nd at the new, state-of-the-art Boerne Champion High School Auditorium. Showtimes are Monday, November 1st, and Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:30pm

at state-of-the-art Boerne Champion HS Auditorium.

Celebrate Boerne’s new “Journey in the Arts” with this high-energy musical extravaganza!

Tickets ($25-$35-$45) are available online at www.kpas.org or www.tix.com  (keyword search: Boerne). Tickets are also available at the Boerne Convention & Visitors Bureau (830-249-7277 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              830-249-7277      end_of_the_skype_highlighting) located in the historic Kingsbury House (in the WalMart parking lot) at 1407 S. Main. Their hours are Mon.-Fri. 9am-5pm and Sat. 10am-2pm.

Mariachi los Camperos, led by Nati Cano…the traditionalist and visionary that shaped the history of mariachi music, are always well received in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. The musical director, Jesus “Chuy” Guzman, has been in San Antonio numerous times to present workshops to high school and college students. Raul Cuellar “Jr.”, a native of San Antonio who moved to Los Angeles to join this group in 2002, is one of four featured violinists. Completing the ensemble with trumpets, harp, guitar, guitarrón, vihuela and two folklorico dancers, this show promises to be colorful, festive and fast-paced!

Kerrville Performing Arts Society (KPAS), presenters of the finest in professional performing arts in the Texas Hill Country, will continue their tradition of excellence with MARIACHI LOS CAMPEROS. During KPAS’ past 26 seasons, featured artists have included: The Ten Tenors (Australia), Marvin Hamlisch, Vienna Choir Boys, Bowfire, Drumline Live, MOMIX Dance Illusionists, African Children’s Choir, Trinity Irish Dancers…and a list that rivals the larger venues in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.

Since this will be the only Texas stop on Los Camperos’ tour…statewide attention is being placed on Boerne. Residents from the hill country will enjoy an “easy drive” to the venue, no parking fees, and great dining prior to the show. The musical program will feature selections from Mexico’s rich cultural history as a celebration of the 200th Anniversary of their Independence. The trumpets blare, the vocalists’ virtuosity and artistry soars, the serenity of the strings, the rhythmic pulsations of the guitars, and flashy, colorful, dynamic dancing…all blend together to create a celebration fitting of their Fiesta!
