Weathervane Foundation

October, 2010

Join us for a weekend retreat November 5-7, 2010 at Camp Allen Conference and Retreat Center in Navasota, TX with Jill Hickman dedicated to the healing arts - healing the body, mind and soul.

"Jill's weekend retreat for women and wellness is a time for dreams and day brighteners, which are the beacons for our breast cancer journey." Fran Padgett, Founder, The Weathervane Foundation

With this Women's Wellness Retreat, The Weathervane Foundation is raising funds for breast cancer research, and with additional sponsorship support (see sponsor info below), is enabling up to 10 participants in the Care Share and Be Aware Breast Cancer Support Group to participate in this retreat, gaining the necessary healing respite from their worries and the opportunity to learn new tips and strategies for ultimate self-care.

Retreat Details

Attend this weekend retreat to activate your passion and awaken your dream. We'll focus on the healing energies of ultimate self-care, communication and self-expression, quiet reflection and meditation, nutritional guidance, and energy enhancement techniques.

Taking time for yourself and learning to care for yourself is a critical leadership function. Having the energy and health to pursue your dreams enables you to offer your gifts and talents to the world. The actions you take today to demonstrate your commitment to your dream will inspire others to pursue their dreams tomorrow.

Group workshops are designed to engage the senses and experience the healing power of self-care with the creativity of art, the magic of developing friendships, and the support of a kind and loving group. There is something magical and mysterious that happens when pursuing an artistic project. As your mind focuses on the present creative energies flowing into your art project, the mind simultaneously releases its grip on the usual outside stressors that flood our day-to-day thoughts. The process of creating art induces a meditative state, incredibly powerful in its inherent healing properties. AND, you have something to keep (or wear!) as a finished product! Regardless of your assumed artistic talent - you may come to the retreat with the thought that you have little creative talent - you'll leave with the completed work of a master!

Free Time is built into the weekend retreat schedule (PDF download) for you to enjoy the peaceful and tranquil environment with nature walks through the forested trails, experiencing the Labyrinth (an ancient sacred path rediscovered as a spiritual tool for healing and transformation), attending morning and evening prayers in the chapel, reading a book beside the lake or pool, or simply gazing at the grounds while rocking on the porch. Nature has always offered us the solace and comfort we seek and need when we stop to take the time and spend it with her. Spending time outdoors can facilitate self-awareness and promote healing. Touted as one of the best prescriptions for what ails us, time spent outdoors is returned to us ten-fold with increased energy, inspiration, creativity, imagination, regeneration, restoration, renewal, and recuperation.

Free Time activities (DOC download) also include optional sign-ups for massage, reflexology, skeet shooting, horseback riding, kayaking and canoeing on the lake and MUCH MUCH MORE - available at additional charges, per person.

Top this all off with an EXPO of incredible exhibitors with free product demonstrations, book signings, raffles and door prizes, and you have a perfect weekend in the making!
