You might think that nature provides all the goodies birds need, so why feed the birds? Birds love winter’s harvest of seeds, berries, and nuts, but when the temperatures start to drop and birds start to migrate, they can use all the proteins and fat they can get. Why teach your children to feed the birds? Because it gets them interested and makes them feel responsible for nature. Besides, birdwatching is one of America’s most popular outdoor activities! This 30 minute, drop-in program will teach you and your child what these wintertime energy-fiends need, how to make their favorites, and provide a fun make-and-take activity. Available for kids of all ages, but aimed at elementary-age children.
