Is it autumn yet? You can't tell by the weather, but you will be able to tell when Dinosaurs Unearthed leaves the Witte on September 6 and Backyard Monsters: The World of Insects comes swarming in on September 25. You won't want to miss this, because along with the amazing, giant, robotic insects, the Witte is also rolling out its incredible insect collection in Beautiful Bugs: Specimens from the Witte Museum Collection. You'll also love our new yard art, Art in the Yard: Insect Innovations, giant bug sculptures made by students from Palo Alto College. Buzz on over for more great fun with science at the Witte Museum!

Witte Museum Textile Sale
Saturday | September 11 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

It is time for the Witte Museum Textile Sale, a shopping extravaganza featuring items for every kind of shopper. Admission is free to all through the Tuleta Gate on the South side of the museum.

Choose from fine linens, needlework, laces and ribbons, fabrics, vintage clothes from the 1950s to 1970s, accessories (hats, gloves, handkerchiefs), silver, books and prints. All items for sale were provided by generous donors to benefit the Witte Museum. Sunday Jazz at the Witte: Hard Bop Project
Sunday | September 12 | 4 - 7 p.m.

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and relax in the Witte courtyard. Kids are welcome. The H-E-B Science Treehouse will be open. Food and beverages on sale by TÖST Bistro.

Included with museum admission. Members get in free.

17th Annual Taste of the Heights
Thursday | September 23 | 7 - 10 p.m.

Taste of the Heights will feature 50+ restaurants from the San Antonio area, a silent auction and raffle, live music performances and an art exhibition. The restaurants include some of the finest culinary dining in San Antonio, each sharing samples of their menu. Proceeds generated from the event will go to support the Children's Bereavement Center, Alamo Heights School Foundation and the Witte Museum. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door and can be purchased online at www.alamoheightschamber.org, Pak Mail at 7700 Broadway or visit the Taste of the Heights website for updated locations at www.tasteoftheheights.com

A Night at the Witte: Backyard Monsters
Friday | September 24,
7 p.m. - September 25,
8:30 a.m.

Spend the night at the Witte and become a junior entomologist by exploring live insects and creating a glowing firefly. The evening includes multiple hands-on activities, an evening snack, a movie and a Witte patch. In the morning, join the Members' Opening breakfast and see the new exhibit. Witte Museum members only. Cost is $40 per child (suggested age 9 and up) and $15 per adult (18 or older).
