Toddler Tales
 (Early Childhood - 0-36 months)
Every Tuesday & Thursday

Toddler Tales is a story time especially for the toddler to preschool aged child and a parent or caregiver. FREE with museum admission.

 

Reading Adventures (Pre-K)
Every Wednesday
10:30 a.m.
Reading Adventures is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. The program strengthens language, listening and motor skills through story time, pretend dramatic play and multisensory activities. FREE with museum admission.      

 

Dots & Squiggles (Pre-K)
Every Friday

10:30 a.m.

Dots and Squiggles is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. Fun and engaging lessons encourage children to experience a wide variety of activities that incorporate art, sensory exploration, movement, music, story time, and dramatic play. FREE with museum admission.

June’s Art Studio Theme: Mixed Media Painting: Using tissue paper, paint and other creative items children will explore and create a beautiful masterpiece all their own.

The Art Studio is a fun, hands-on activity space where children and parents or caregivers can create art together. Lively and well equipped, the Art Studio provides opportunities for exploring self-expression led by artist-educators. FREE with museum admission.

Make and decorate Chinese paper lanterns with the staff from the Regal Cinemas it celebrate the release of the new film Karate Kid. Limited Karate Kids posters and movie passes will be given away to participants. FREE with museum admission.

 

Little Daily Planner’s Mondays at the Museum

Every FIRST Monday of the month

Summer Camp: Super Science Summer Camp!  (Ages 7-10) 

Monday, June 7 -  Friday, June 11

9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Explore physical science, botany, biology, zoology and environmental science in this fun-filled week of science! We’ll even get a visit from some cool critters! Storytelling with Aunt Judy author of Chickens on the Go
Saturday, June 12
11 a.m. & 12:00 p.m. 
San Antonio children’s author Aunt Judy will read and sign, Chickens on the Go.  Kids will also learn how to draw Aunt Judy’s chickens AND everyone does the Chicken Dance! Aunt Judy’s books, Chickens on the Go and Chickens in the Know, will be available for sale. FREE with museum admission.

 

Summer Camp: Art in 3-D (Ages 7-10) 

Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18

9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Young artists will enjoy exploring a variety of media in our interactive “Art in 3-D” summer program!  We will discover many 3-D art forms including clay, paper maché, weaving and homemade play dough!

Snake Farm Day!

Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff with Special Guest Author Sarah Burell

San Antonio author Sarah Burell will read and autograph copies of her book Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff, a very funny wild-west tale with a unique new star.

Cat Paws, the children's music and movement television program on KLRN, comes to the Museum for a LIVE performance.

The museum offers three floors of interactive play exhibits, including the H-E-B Kids’ Market, a Tot Spot dedicated to infants and toddlers 0 -36 month, action-packed PowerBall Hall and weekly science and art activities for children ages 0 –10.
