Larry Tuttle, president/CEO of Guide Dogs of Texas, has been named the recipient of the Professional Fundraiser Award by the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning San Antonio (PPPSA) during a May 11 awards luncheon honoring members of the philanthropic community.
The PPPSA is a public charity whose mission is to help people and organizations create charitable giving experiences that are the most meaningful in achieving both charitable mission and the philanthropic, financial, family and personal goals of the donor.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by fellow members of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning for Lifetime Leadership in Fundraising,” Tuttle said. “The promotion of charitable giving to benefit the greater good of our community is such a high calling. Effective charitable giving requires ethics and professionalism as promulgated by the Partnership to provide resources that benefit thousands of our community’s residents who are served by nonprofits. To be recognized for leadership in such a community is an exceptional honor.”
Guide Dogs of Texas raises, trains and provides guide dogs to visually impaired Texans to enhance their mobility and independence. It is the only guide dog school in the state and is a member of the International Guide Dog Federation.
