Teen describes his desired forever family
Jennifer Borget

May, 2010

It was the VIP treatment and a VIP tour for 13-year-old Joshua. From the locker room, to Mack Brown's office, to the University of Texas football field, he got to see it all.

All the talk about football made Joshua think about some of the things he'd like to do with a dad who adopts him.

"I need to learn how to throw right and stuff, so if he could teach me how to throw - because when I just throw, I throw anywhere," he said.

He'd like someone who can help him stay on point and give him a home he can go back to day after day.

"So I can stop moving around, like switching around places. I would be comfortable if I could just stay in one place, like with an adoptive family," he said.

When it comes to what kind of family he'd like, he's not too picky about where they're from or what they look like.

"It's not really important, just as long as I get adopted," he said.

He said children with adoptive families have a bit of an advantage, and he looks forward to reaping some of the same benefits.

"I can pass school, that way I can graduate from high school and go to college and get through stuff," he said.

Joshua said with a forever family that has his back, he can make it through anything.

"I'd like to be adopted, and I hope they will adopt me," he said.
