As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we thought we'd take a look back through Lawndale's archives and share some of our findings with you and give you all the opportunity to share your memories with us. We see a few recognizable faces in this photo from the original Lawndale Annex off Hillman.

Sponsor the 30th Anniversary Exhibition

Funds raised in support of Lawndale's 30th Anniversary Exhibition help underwrite the cost of our free public programs throughout the year. Please consider supporting Lawndale Art Center at this important milestone in our history. Your generosity allows us to continue serving as one of Houston's leading contemporary arts spaces - engaging audiences and fostering dialogue among the region's diverse communities. Your financial support will provide valuable funding for Lawndale's many programs, helping to cover expenses such as the presentation of exhibitions, catalogue production and printing and direct financial support for artists. To find out more about making a donation to this year's event, please download our Donor Packet or contact us at 713.528.5858 or by email at askus@lawndaleartcenter.org.

Special thanks to Continental Airlines and Saint Arnold Brewery.
Household Goods Donations Needed

For their exhibition in the Mezzanine Galley, Me, Mine, and not Yours, artists Joe Ives and Jahjehan Bath Ives need your unwanted household items for their installation.  Items include: a loveseat, dining room table and two or more chairs (can be mismatched), low coffee table (preferably wooden), household knickknacks, pillows, dishes and plates, vases, linens, hardbound books.  The artists plan to use household items to create their tableau in the Mezzanine.

All the items will then be donated to charity following the close of the exhibition.  Items can be delivered to Lawndale between Monday, August 10th, and Friday, August 14th, 10 AM to 5 PM or by appointment.  Please contact dnance@lawndaleartcenter.org or call 713-528-5858 for further information.
