HOUSTON – Human trafficking is the second largest criminal industry in the world and yields an estimated nine billion dollars in profit each year. Research shows that 14,500 to 17,500 foreign nationals are trafficked into the United States every year and 50 percent of those victims are children. The Valley area is a gateway for these international trafficking victims to enter the U.S.
Nationally renowned advocate, Dr. Bob Sanborn, political officials, educators, and community advocates will discuss the growing human trafficking problem, and recent legislation and its affect in the Valley.
