Permian Basin Area Foundation announced $317,400 in grant awards to regional nonprofit organizations during a news conference held today at the Girl Scouts of the Permian Basin Service Center in Odessa.

The Foundation’s spring grants also included the first distributions from the Dollie Ruth Neal Education Fund to support education programs of organizations that serve young women managing single-mother households. Nonprofits that received these grants are:

Sondra Eoff highlighted the importance of area nonprofit organizations. “Nonprofit organizations play a vital role in improving the quality of life for area residents. From assistance to children and parenting classes to housing and facility improvement, the Foundation and its donors are grateful for the commitment of our nonprofits.”
The Foundation awards grants following review of applications submitted in the spring and fall. Fall grant pre-applications are due at the Foundation’s offices on or before October 1, 2009.
